The sixties and the following decades witnessed new developments in the Palestinian issue yet the impact and pains of the calamity persevered in Ismail's works.
In the early sixties, a new situation started imposing itself on the Palestinian scene. Something like a resurrection was taking place. Resistance movement began to rise with some political muscle. Then all of this was culminated in the establishment of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) to lead Palestinian struggle against Israel's aggression.
